For individuals

Stop getting ready.Start the adventure.

There's probably somewhere you've wanted to go for a long time. Start a company. Write the book. Change careers. Become someone who can. You've read about it, taken the class, maybe bought the gear — and you're still standing at the trailhead. I know the territory. Let's go.

This isn't traditional coaching

Not that kind of coach. Not a course.

I'm not going to sit across from you and pretend every answer is already inside you. Sometimes it isn't. So:

How we start

Make it smaller. Then start.

You don't need to see the whole path first — you can't. So we find the smallest real version of what you want and get you doing it. Not “write a book” — the first chapter someone else reads. Not “start a company” — one conversation, this week, with one person who might need it. Then we see what happens and take the next step from there.

Do something real. Find out what you need. Get better. Do something more real.

What that looks like

My mom's book.

My mom wanted to write a book. She'd wanted to for years, and plenty of people had tried to help. It never happened.

I said I'd do it with her. We published in three months, and that Christmas I delivered 1,000 copies to her. She cried.

Then I built FastPencil so anyone could do what she did — Courier Corp acquired it in 2011. It started with one person who wanted to write a book.

Where it ends

You don't need to know where it ends.

Tell me you want to become a founder, or an author, or a professional musician. I won't promise it, and I won't argue with it. We'll start moving in that direction. Maybe you get there. Maybe you find something you want even more. The person who starts isn't always the one who decides where it ends — and that's part of the work.

01

Starting a company

Idea to something real: first customers, first product, and learning to operate like a founder.

02

Writing and publishing

From “I've always wanted to write a book” to holding it. I've written two, and helped others write and publish theirs.

03

Building and launching

Products, businesses, creative projects, communities — the things that currently live in your head.

04

Becoming capable

Sometimes you just want to become someone who can do something you can't do today. That's enough.

Working together

A guide who knows the territory.

I call it an adventure because I think it's exciting. To you it might feel more like a journey — that's fine. Either way, I've walked a lot of this ground before. I know where the trail gets steep, when to push, when to reroute, and when to let you find your own footing.

I guide a small number of people at a time. You're not buying an hour of my time — you're getting twelve weeks of me on the trail with you. Some weeks that's a conversation. Others it's an introduction, a teardown, teaching you something, or sitting down and doing it together. The point is movement, not the number of meetings.

Four 3-week sprints. Pricing depends on what we're taking on — we'll talk about it once we know it's a fit. Not ready for twelve weeks? Bring one stuck thing to a single working session.

Mash in a working session

What have you wanted to do for a long time?

Tell me — that's enough to begin. Thirty minutes to see whether I'm the right person to do it with you.
